A series of posters and calendars that draw
on Alaska's Yup'ik Eskimo traditions, such as the dancer, the sun "mask," the polar bear hunting... whimsically,
in mukluks, and the "throwing party" given to celebrate a young person's first hunt or first gathering
of berries. This series is the work of artist Stanley Mute of Kongiganuk, Alaska -- a Bering Sea village.
