Turning Out the Work
It's always a thrill to learn that one's writing has been accepted for publication.  But the wheels of the industry turn slowly as someone mutters and putters while trying to decide if there is commercial promise in the work.
I don't always have time for that.  I have learned how to make a book and HeartWorks Press is the imprint for publication.
I will continue to work with publishers such as Illumination Arts who published The Right Touch in 1999 and with The Delta Discovery, a weekly paper, where my writing about families and children is published, but I won't just wait.
My work needs to be in the hands of readers and I have committed myself to getting it there.
At this time, HeartWorks Press is not open to submissions from other writers.  I am simply too busy to adequately take that role.  But I heartily support the work of emerging writers and will look for ways to help directly.
I am particularly interested in supporting emerging writers from Rural Alaska.
